If you use SiteMeter to track your web stats, I’d recommend that you temporarily remove the code from your site because it’s causing problems in Internet Explorer. (I’m not sure if it’s happening in all versions of the browser, but it’s definitely happening in IE 10.)
I was alerted about this when a client forwarded me a message from one of her visitors who was getting an annoying pop up message at the bottom of the screen when visiting the site in Internet Explorer. The message was: “Do you want to open or save analytics.js from a.sitemeter.com?” It pops up on every page even if you close it initially. After doing some Googling and reading other posts complaining about this issue, it appears that this bug was introduced some time on Thursday, September 26 and has yet to be resolved.
Since there is no fix at this time, I recommend removing the SiteMeter code from your site completely. Google Analytics is a more robust stats tracking solution which you can use as a replacement.
